Netflix was founded in 1997 about 23 years ago. However, the American streaming service was launched in India in January 2016. The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged the way we consume content as many news outlets spread hatred and SET Max is still stuck in Suryavansham. I decided to subscribe to Netflix last July and there has been no going back since. I’ve streamed Bojack Horseman, The Crown, The Big Bang Theory, Friends, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, Stranger Things, and tons of movies so far.
Due to the group pressure, not everyone wants to spend a large amount each month to see a few shows. If you really want to stream some of the unprecedented shows the planet has ever seen, I have detailed Netflix India plans so you can ponder and settle for a plan that works best for you.
Netflix Plans India Annually and Monthly: How Much Does Netflix In India Cost Per Month?
Below I have discussed all of the Netflix plans for India which cover subscription prices, the number of devices you can stream to, the quality of the video, and much more.

Netflix plans India: monthly
There are currently four Netflix plans in India that target a wide range of audiences. If you would like to decide on a subscription, I have provided detailed data on it.
Netflix plans India: Mobile
Netflix unveiled a mobile-only plan last year that is self-explanatory. At a price of £ 199, only one mobile device is supported. So if you try to log into a computer with this account, you will not be able to stream the content. Unlike other plans, you can only stream the content in standard definition. If you’re not concerned about not watching TV shows and movies on the big screen, this plan is perfect for you. If you choose this plan, only 1 person can view content in the app at a time. Your friends will have to wait when you’re done.
Netflix Plans India: Basic
The basic plan costs £ 499 and also supports a single screen. However, you can watch the content on a smartphone, laptop, tablet, or even a TV. Similar to the mobile-only plan, the content is limited to the standard definition, and the number of downloads and active screens are limited to just one device.
Netflix plans India: Standard
The next plan is standard and costs £ 649. This is a better plan for most of you as it can be shared with two people and you will each pay around £ 326. This plan allows you to stream content in 1080p or Full HD. It also supports two screens, including a smartphone, TV, and tablet. Like I said, this is a better plan to share between family and friends.
Netflix plans India: Premium
Netflix’s Premium plan is very popular. The price is £ 799 and can be shared by four friends, bringing the cost down to £ 200 per person. The best thing about this plan is that it supports four screens at the same time. Because it’s a premium plan, you can stream video in 1080 or Full HD on smartphones and Ultra HD on laptops and computers. In addition, you can download and stream movies and TV shows on up to four devices at the same time. To avoid confusion, you can create individual profiles for each user for a slightly more customized experience.
Netflix is planning India: Annually
Unfortunately, unlike Amazon Prime, Disney + Hotstar, Zee5, etc., Netflix doesn’t currently have any monthly plans. According to Livemint, three long-term plans are being tested – 3 months, 6 months and 12 months. Taking into account the amount you spend annually on Netflix subscriptions – £ 2,388 for the mobile-only plan, £ 5,988 for the basic plan, £ 7,799 for the standard plan, and £ 9,588 for the premium plan – the annual plans seem cheaper to be.
The £ 1,919 plan comes with a 3 month expiry option, the 6 month plan costs £ 3,359, while the annual subscription costs £ 4,799. The premium plan costs £ 9,588 per year. When you analyze these three plans, they seem rather cheap compared to the regular Netflix plans in India.
What is Netflix?
Netflix is an over-the-top streaming service that offers a wide variety of TV shows, anime, films, documentaries, and more. You can see as much as you want without enduring a single advertisement. On the way to work? Waiting in line? Or just bored? You can watch the content on Netflix anytime. The service adds exciting content every week.
Where can i see it?
You can watch Netflix anywhere, anytime on your various devices. Make sure you have an active plan, an internet connection, and a fully charged device. Sign in to your Netflix account and instantly start watching content from your PC or smartphone. You can also watch the content on smart TVs, tablets, streaming media players and game consoles.
What can i watch on Netflix?
Netflix’s extensive repository includes movies, TV shows, anime, documentaries, award-winning Netflix originals, etc. There is no limit to how much content you can watch.
What does Netflix cost?
Subscription plans for Netflix in India range from £ 199 to £ 799 which you can pay monthly. Whichever plan you choose, you won’t run into annoying ads, nor will you have to pay any extra.
How do I cancel?
When it comes to canceling subscriptions, Netflix is very flexible. You can quickly get out of your current plan without getting caught up in irritating contracts and commitments. There are also no cancellation fees.
Why is Netflix so expensive in India?
Netflix charges exorbitant prices compared to its competitors as its policies reflect wealthy customers. The platform is aimed at English-speaking users in India who have an affinity for Western shows.
Does Netflix offer a free trial?
Yes, Netflix offers new users a one month free trial. You won’t be charged a single penny and you can cancel before the service starts if you don’t like it. However, you will need to add your card details for a successful trial. But as I said, you will not be charged.
Is Amazon Prime or Netflix Better?
In terms of content, both OTT platforms are head to head. But if you’re after value, it’s clearly Amazon Prime since for £ 999 a year; You get access to Prime Delivery Options, Prime Video, and Prime Video.
These are the Netflix plans for India. You can choose based on how often you see it, as subscribing to a premium plan would be stupid if you see it once or twice a month. I share the premium plan with my three other friends to watch 4K Ultra movies on my laptop.
Without a doubt, Netflix’s plans are pretty exorbitant compared to other streaming services like Amazon Prime, Disney + Hotstar, Voot, Zee5, etc. Netflix content is loved in every nook and cranny of the world (except North Korea, Syria and Crimea) for its compelling content and the original TV shows / movies. Whichever plans you choose, you’ll enjoy all of the content on Netflix.
