Instagram has been a comforting source for many of us in the lockdown. For some, it was even before the COVID era. You can see your friends, crush, and celebrities at their best. Different filters and features attract many people to try it out several times a day. One of the standout features are stories that were “inspired” by Snapchat.
The best thing about Stories is that it disappears after 24 hours. If you didn’t open your Instagram today (you’re an angel!), You may be missing out on what people were up to. The stories bring a lot of sales and entertainment for us. Sometimes the stories are so fabulous that we want to save them in our personal gallery. Either you are stalking someone or you want to save your own story – whatever the reason, I am not here to judge, but to help you. The methods below allow you to download Instagram pictures and videos with just a few additional steps. Scroll down for detailed steps.

How to download Instagram Stories
Note that these methods can only download Instagram Stories from public, not private accounts. If possible, also take the creator’s consent to download their stories. It’s the least you can do.
Method 1: archive your own stories
If you want to download your own stories, this is a great option. You can also enable the archive option which will automatically save all the stories you post on your Instagram account. To enable archiving, do the following:
Step 1: Start the Instagram app.
Step 2: Tap on Settings.
Step 3: Go to data protection.
Step 4: Now click on “Story Settings”.
Step 5: Go to the “Save” section and enable the options ‘Save history in archive’ for Android phones and ‘Save story in camera roll’ for iOS.
Every time you post an Instagram story, it is saved in the Archive section. To access the Archive section, open your Instagram account and tap the Archive icon. You will see the archive screen where you will find all of the stories tagged by date. Your Instagram stories are now stored in your Instagram account forever. You can reuse or republish your saved Stories, which can then be created in Instagram Stories Highlights.
Method 2: Download Instagram Story using Story Saver apps
You can download third-party applications that will allow you to download Instagram Stories. The first app is Story Saver for Instagram Video Downloader Instore from Appyhigh Technology. The app makes it easy to download Instagram stories – pictures and videos. You can log in with your Instagram account and save other users’ stories. The app can also download display images.
Another Android app is the Story, Video & Reels Downloader for Instagram that we developed. Just copy and paste the link of the downloaded story. The stories are saved on your device storage.
iOS users can download the self-explanatory Story Saver ∞. It costs around £ 400 but is the best app for you if you are constantly saving Instagram Stories.
Method 3: screen recorder and screenshot
Screen recording is the most efficient and also the scariest feature – depending on what you’re going to use it for. The same assumption applies here. I know I’m suggesting the option, but it’s one of the easiest out there. You can download some third-party screen recording applications if your phone doesn’t have a pre-installed option. AZ Screen Recorder, Screen Recorder and VCR, ADV Screen Recorder, Screen Recorder, Super Screen Recorder, etc. are some of the best options. iOS users are blessed with a built-in option.
If you want to save a photo story offline, you can simply take the picture as a screenshot. Some modern phones only require a click or swipe. You can then crop the image as needed.
Method 4: save stories manually
You can save your Instagram stories manually. Choose this option if you don’t want to save every story in your gallery / camera roll. Once again, that option is to save your own stories and not those of others.
Step 1: Go to your Instagram account and see your active history.
Step 2: Tap the three dots at the end of the story and click “Save”.
Step 3: Now select “Save Photo / Video” to save the picture or video stories, or simply select “Save Story” to save all of your stories as a single video.
While this method is straightforward, it is tedious because you have to manually download each of the stories as soon as they are published. The video is displayed in vertical format.
Method 5: Download Instagram Stories on your PC
You can also download Instagram Stories on your computer. To do this, just follow the steps.
Step 1: Visit Storysaver.net on your computer (or even your phone’s browser in desktop mode) to download Instagram Stories.
Step 2: Wait for the website to load. Now enter the username of the Instagram account in the search box and click the “Download” button.
Step 3: To see the account’s stories, scroll down to see the stories.
Step 4: Click “Save as Video” to download the stories to your device.
Step 5: You can also download pictures and videos from Instagram. Open the Instagram account and copy the link of the photo or video you want to download.
Step 6: Now visit the website again and paste the link into the search box. Now click on “Go”.
Step 7: When the photo loads on the webpage, scroll down and click “Download Now”.

Yes, Instagram stories go away within a day or 24 hours. You add it as a highlight. Instagram also lets you share your posts (pictures and videos) in your stories or stories in your feed.
Is there an app that shows you who is taking your Instagram screenshots?
Unfortunately (or fortunately) no! Instagram has severely limited the functionality of third-party apps through the Instagram API. This is mainly due to security and privacy concerns. If you find an application that shows you who is taking your Instagram screenshots, it is a scam.
